Another cause of fine facial lines is the decrease of collagen and elastin in our body. Collagen and elastin are the two proteins that are responsible for keeping our skin firm and elastic.

Unfortunately as we get older, the levels of both proteins in our body begins to decrease primarily because lower levels of the proteins are produced by the body. Thats the main reason why people start getting wrinkles and fine lines when they age. Because older skin loses its elasticity and firmness, that is also the reason why older people tend to have more fine lines on forehead.

Now that you know the causes of fine lines on forehead, you can take the necessary steps of prevention. Even though there might not be much you can do about factors like genetics, you can certainly take steps to reduce the amount of exposure your skin and face gets from the Sun UV rays.
