Those Nasty Pet Stains On Your Dallas Wood Floors
With pets walking all around and all over the Dallas hardwood floors of the house
, it is almost to be expected that along the way, dark stains and spots from pet urine might be present. Pets and hardwood floors are never a good combination, as what they say.
The lucky homeowners wipe the pet urine quickly as they happen to keep the wood from absorbing the liquid. But of course, no one is really always on their guard in situations like these. The worst could be finding a dark smudge on that beautiful wooden flooring of the house and there is apparently nothing else that can be done to it.
There are a lot of simple measures that can be done to address the pet stain issues but these are never to really fully and completely remove the tough marks that have already set in on the surface. For one, there are a lot of expensive chemicals and solutions that can be found in the market claiming to be able to remove the stains on your wood floors. Chemicals that could successfully do so, however, might damage the wood flooring even just slightly with their harsh composition. Hydrogen peroxide is said to also do wonders on pet stains, but it must be used with a very good control and regulation because too much of it might cause damage and ugly discoloration to the wood. Best thing to do is to apply the hydrogen peroxide little by little to the surface and wait for its effects before applying some more if necessary. Same thing goes with vinegar. This, however, is not a removal method, but actually done for mild discoloration which is attempting to only mask any dark spots on the surface of your wood flooring. But just like putting powder on to cover gray eye shadows, any method can never perfectly mask pet stains on Dallas wood floors.
These solid Dallas hardwood floors are very absorbent making them unsuitable for any form of moisture. Pet urine will therefore seep in and not only remain on the surface. Sanding the wood will do no help since the stains reach deep down to the layers. Only surface treatments can be done, treatments that don't promise complete and perfect effects. Prevention is the best thing to do in maintaining any hardwood floors. Have the pets trained, or at least keep them away from the precious wood floorings.
