Thoughts Are Things!

I follow the work of John-Roger wwwdotMSIAdotcom and would like to impart some thoughts from his quotations

. I have put in my own words a summation of what he says. Every day, by email, I receive John-Roger's "Loving Each Day" quotation. The message called Energy Follows Thought is potent, and especially the last line.

Energy Follows Thought.

That means if you are thinking about a hot fudge sundae, all the levels of your consciousness come in line to bring that to you. This same principle applies regarding visualisation of progressing towards soul transcendence and higher awareness. Every layer of your being will conspire to lead to this happening. Your mind, emotions, basic selves and even your subconscious mind, will collaborate to guide you towards this happening although you will not be consciously aware of these combined forces operating. This explains the importance of guarding your thoughts, because they can lead towards physically manifesting what your focus your thoughts on.

It is wise also to take care of what you speak. Monitor what you say and be sure it embodies your true life desires.

So whatever thought you have, whatever you say to yourself or others, is important. Become aware of it - listen to what you say. Ensure your self talk is positive and change it as soon as possible once youve become aware that its not.

The book "You Can't Afford The Luxury of a Negative Thought" by John-Roger and Peter McWilliams talks quite a bit about the mind and mind power. What follows are some quotes from that book.

Thoughts are Powerful

A simple thought. A few micro-milliwatts of energy flowing through our brain. A seemingly innocuous, almost ephemeral thing. And yet, a thought or, more accurately, a carefully orchestrated series of thoughts has a significant impact on our mind, our body and our emotions.

Thoughts create responses in the body. Think of a lemon. Imagine cutting it in half. Now imagine removing the seeds from one half with the point of a knife. Smell the lemon. Now imagine squeezing the juice from the lemon into your mouth. Then imagine digging your teeth into the centre of the lemon. Chew the pulp. Feel those little things (whatever those little things are called) breaking and popping inside your mouth. Most people's salivary glands respond to the very thought of a lemon.

For some people, the mere thought of the sound of fingernails on a chalkboard is physically uncomfortable. Try this imagine an emery board or a fingernail file or a double-sided piece of sandpaper. Imagine putting it in your mouth. Bite down on it. Now move your teeth from side to side. Goosebumps.

Thoughts influence our emotions. Turn your thoughts to something you are fond of. What feelings do you have? And now turn your thoughts to something you really dislike. How are you feeling now? Think again of something you love. We don't have to change our emotions consciously just change our thoughts, and our emotions quickly follow.

Think about a much-loved place in the natural world, as you relax. Where is it? A beach? A meadow? A mountain top? Take your time. Imagine lying on your back, your eyes closed. The warmth of the sun can be felt on your face. Smell the air. Hear the sounds of creation. Become a part of it. Relax even more.

Most people who take the time to try these little experiments know what we're talking about.

Those who thought, "This stuff is silly and I'm not going to try anything as stupid as this" will be left with the emotional and physiological consequences of their thoughts. Perhaps there will be a sense of tightness, irritability, impatience or maybe outright hostility. These people have proved the point with the "suggested" thoughts. The idea here is of course that our thoughts can influence our mind, body and emotions.

Positive results (such as love, tranquillity, passion, happiness, vitality) can be achieved through having positive thoughts (such as self-value, delight, success, accomplishment, stress release). Negative thoughts (judgment, unworthiness, mistrust, resentment, fear) produce negative results (tension, anxiety, alienation, anger, fatigue).

To understand why something as miniscule as a thought can have such a dramatic effect on our mind, body and emotions, it helps to understand the automatic reaction human beings have whenever they perceive danger: the Fight or Flight Response.

Every good thought you think is contributing its share to the ultimate result of your life Grenville Kleiser.

This is sadly true also for every negative thought which also contributes to the eventual outcome of your life.

Use your subconscious mind deliberately in both the relaxed and the meditation state and remember to maintain positive self talk.
