Is this it?

The world and the life we live within it I mean. Surely there is more to life than the endless grind which may supply us with a Rolls Royce one week and a deadly cancer the week after?

Well, the answer lies within our heads rather than our hearts. Inside that three pound lump of tissue that lives in our skull are the revelations that can make this life bearable.

Nietzsche suggested that pleasure and pain visit us in equal amounts during our lifetime. Consider a Tibetan monk who may live a life of austerity and frugality - not much pleasure in his life, but then again, not much pain either.

Increasingly we in the West turn to material things to try to ease the pain and suffering that is modern life - but we as a Western species will fail spectacularly if we continue to cling to such frail gods. Pleasure is but a respite from the suffering that makes up the bulk of our lifetime on this earth. Once people realise this then a monumental breakthrough has been made on a personal level. We should learn to accept the pain and suffering that is part of our daily existence rather than trying to resist and block it out with external objects and desires. Easier said than done, I know, but it is possible, and there are simple routes to this path.

Other worlds and planes, some beyond human description (we simply do not have the words) certainly do exist alongside this, not very pleasant, existence that we have carved out for ourselves in our modern day lives. Tapping into these other places is something, for all our sakes, we should seriously consider.
