Thousands lost their homes in the flood but state government could not reach the flood victims

Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi while addressing an election rally in Aurangabad said "The opposition parties don't even try to understand the real issues of the poor people. They are more interested in the stock market, privatization and which public sector hotel is to be sold to which industrialist. When it is election time, they don't talk about the poor or development of the country. While in Delhi they talk about corruption, but forget about it in Bihar."

Rahul Gandhi said "BJP talks about terrorism. But the Indian parliament was attacked during their time, the plane was hijacked during their regime and arrested terrorist was released and escorted by their minister to Kandahar during their rule. Leaders of the NDA kneeled down before the terrorists and they blame us for not fighting terrorism. "

Congress General Secretary said, "If our opposition parties think that they can take India ahead while leaving the poor behind, if they think that they can take India forward by dividing them on religious line, they don't realize that India is one. If India has to be taken forward every Indian has to be taken into consideration. The poor, the rich, people from all religions & caste have to be taken along."

"Rich people don't need the government. They can get their work done. It is the poor and backward people who need the government. During floods in Bihar, your government did not play its role honestly." Referring to his recent visit to the flood affected parts of Bihar Rahul Gandhi said, "Bihar faced floods a few months back. I thought to myself that I should come here and see what the situation was like. I knew that people would be facing a lot of hardships. When I arrived in Bihar, the place was still flooded. There was army personnel sent by the central government, working there. When I enquired about the state government's involvement, they said without hesitation that they were fighting the battle alone. "

"Thousands lost their homes in the flood, lost all they had , but your state government could not reach the flood victims. When I went back to Delhi, I tried to provide all possible help for the victims, from the central government. I organized relief material for the victims, but your government could not ensure that it reached the flood affected areas."
