Threats to the Peace Guardians, Welfare Workers and Journalists in Waziristan

In South Waziristan after 2004 when the war on terror began the guardians of peace are to pose serious risks.. Since then, every person who plays role remains in peace poses threat in Waziristan. When the U.S. invaded Afghanistan, many Taliban arrived in Pakistan's tribal areas. In which a large number of Uzbek militants was included. Mulvi who led the local Taliban in Wana, headquarters of South Waziristan, fired Uzbek militants from Wana. Before people sheltered them because they understood that they (Uzbeks) are the true Mujahiddin of Islam. And everywhere people gave them much support and love as well. They were strange people; later tribal knew. They kept more money. In Islam Mujahiddin are given Zakatas Islam teaches us. But here matter was different. They had more money and had medical and engineering experts. Then slowly it was clear that they came with the intention to fight against Pakistan. Then national army of tribesmen developed against them and they have been removed from Wana. Until they were here in Wana they killed many significant and important tribal chiefs and target every person who loved to Pakistan. It is just clear that they were the Mujahiddin or the enemies of our beautiful country Pakistan.

Afterwards also when Uzbeks left Wana, the tribal elders and other patriotic people were targeted. And till today people are living in fear.

Even last days, the Peace Committee chief in Shakai area has been killed in a suicide attack. It seems that peaceful and patriotic people in South Waziristan are still facing serious risks.

The peace guardians in South Waziristan are facing such threats. And people from other classes of life in which journalists, NGOs workers and other institutions who are working in South Waziristan are also facing much threats. It is to be mentioned here necessarily that staff of FM 96 Radio Waziristan who is working for the welfare and development of Waziristan also pose serious threats. Employees of the radio channel work at very low salaries for peace and development of Waziristan and they have put their lives at risk. Each worker of the radio loves Pakistan very much that is why they came and put their lives as well as lives of their families at great risks to work for progress, peace, prosperity and security of Pakistan putting every risk on back and work hard.

Now government should not only increase their salary but they also should be given accommodation and other benefits, so that they are encouraged and proudly serve their country and nation.
