Harry Potter has become a household name. It has been a couple of years now and the franchise has never been more popular. New movies still need to come out and fans are waiting patiently.
To capitalize on the popularity the owners started to create video games that coincide with the movies and the books. More so with the movies because the animation, characters, and sounds are from the movies.
Let us check out some of these games.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
The story is of course directly taken from the movie, but many changes have been made. The game play is about exploring, solving puzzles and fighting enemies. There are eight spells you need to learn. Many times you will have to do tasks to learn the basics of the game.
Graphics of the game are nothing spectacular but they are easy on the eyes. The sound effects and the music also get the job done.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
The entire game takes place at Hogwarts. It is a linear game and cutscenes are in black and white. You can run, jump and use your magic stick to perform spells.
Learning spells takes place in the classrooms. It is funny that Harry Potter is the only kid in the whole class who constantly gets picked to practice a new spell.
The graphics are okay, during the cutscenes the mouths of the characters do not even move.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
After a couple of games you would think that the developers would have a pretty good grasp on what works and what the fans do not like about the other Harry Potter games. Unfortunately for us they did not do that great of a job with this one.
Gameplay is sluggish and the lock on system is very bad. Every gamer knows that a lock on function in games is of the utmost important when you are battling against foes or trying to target items.
What is good about the game play is the spells that you obtain and use throughout the game. It is very fun when you get a new spell and see the various ways in how you are able to use it.
We just looked at some of the most played Harry Potter games. They are nothing spectacular but are fun in its own right.
