Three Mistakes Transformational Coaches Should Avoid

While many people associate learning a new task with a list of how to items

, it can be just as beneficial to know what not to do as well. Learning from past mistakes that others have made allows you to sidestep them in your own path and more quickly obtain your goal. In fact, focusing on what not to do can often lead you down the path that is most effective and rewarding!

When you embark into a career in transformational coaching, it is easy to fall into the mindset that this job should be approached as many other jobs are. This is simply not the case. Transformational coaching is different because it does not rely on transformational sales tactics. While securing clients is essential to success, there are no high pressure situations, no push to close a deal, and no manipulations required. The beauty of the whole system is based in simple connections with people who need your services. Doing it any other way would be a violation of the whole concept.

So, what should you not do? Here are the top three mistakes to avoid when becoming a transformational coach!

1.Dont launch a full presentation of your services before knowing if there is a vibrational match.

This is a huge deal for new coaches because the situation will often arise when someone asks how you would work with them as a coach. While nearly everyone you come in contact with should be viewed as a potential client, you must begin by engaging them in a conversation about any challenges that they may be facing in their life. This will allow you to judge whether or not you could benefit them as a transformational coach. In many cases, rushing into your skill set can set you and your client up to be matched improperly, resulting in little or no results.

2.Dont continue to explore if the person is not an ideal client.

The biggest advantage that a transformational coach has is confidence in their client and confidence in their coaching system. As a transformational coach, it is essential to only accept vibrationally matched clients in order to maintain this level of confidence. By continuing to explore a coach/client relationship with an individual who is not ideal, you will be setting yourself up for possible failure. In addition, you will be doing your client a disservice.

3. Dont push yourself or attempt to force your services on to anyone.

Even when exploring the topic of transformational coaching and asking about life challenges with a potential client, make sure to keep the conversation very low key. Dont ever approach from a selfish place or look at a person as you would a sale. If you always draw your exchanges from a true willingness to serve and help others, marvelous things will happen for you. By keeping your focus on connecting with people from a place of serving, you will be able to maintain clarity in every situation that arises.
