A showroom is different from a sales floor because it shows kitchens that are already set up with the products a company sells. Showrooms are excellent for giving you lots of ideas that you can incorporate into the design for your new or remodeled kitchen. When you find yourself in these situations, here are three reasons to visit a kitchen showroom.

1. The showroom is just so much better than the ideas in pictures or on the computer. Sure, you can check out magazines and websites for kitchen remodels all day, but this just won't be the same as looking at a showroom in person. When you see a showroom, you get a feel for textures, colors, and dimensions that is much clearer. Plus, you can compare one type of kitchen to another and see what a complete remodel might look like in your kitchen.

2. You can touch things in a showroom and get a feel for placement. One of the most difficult things about remodeling your kitchen is deciding where to put all the appliances and cabinets. It's not like rearranging the furniture in your living room. You can't just keep moving things around until you're satisfied. Instead, you have to get it out on paper first, and things that feel good on paper don't always feel good in person.

Chances are likely that a kitchen showroom will have different layouts shown. You'll probably be able to walk around within these layouts, testing the efficiency of different appliance placements. Even if you couldn't get your kitchen to work exactly like a showroom kitchen, you can still get a feel for what you might like.

3. In a showroom, you can check out all the latest design elements in person. Even traditional kitchens get updated items once in a while. Whether you're interested in new cabinet colors or painting techniques, new flooring and backsplash ideas, or new appliance styles, you can see them all in a showroom. Sometimes a new style might sound strange, but it could look fantastic in person. Likewise, a style that looks great on paper could actually turn you off in person. Seeing things in person is really the only way to decide whether or not you'd like them in your own kitchen.
