Three Talent Trees, Countless Warlock Builds

Once Mages, the Warlocks have delved deep into demonic powers

, eventually corrupting them and transforming them into a foul magic-wielding class. They rank high among the most versatile and most original classes in WoW and is generally considered capable of filling up a number of roles. They have the ability to cast curses and DoT spells along with calling on their demon pets and other remarkable Warlock builds.

As a Warlock, your talents and abilities are divided into three different talent trees - Affliction, Demonology, and Destruction. Any of these talent trees has a good combination of destructive talents that could create a very powerful destroyer. In fact, these trees have been developed to create a killing machine with demonic powers. Individual trees also bring to the table distinct capabilities like improved survivability, enhanced PvP capabilities, and mass killing abilities.

Affliction For leveling Warlocks and those who are gearing their Warlocks for arena, the Affliction tree is the way to roll. This provides talents that mainly improve the survivability of a Warlock, especially when combined with Soul Link, a demonology spell and talent that reroutes the damage received by the warlock to its minion. This is also the only tree that allows for a Warlock to do mass grinding any group of mobs.

Affliction is also the talent tree that focuses on enhancing damage over time, curses and drain spells, creating a character that is often a force to be feared.

Delving deep into this tree often results in massive amount of XP, given that everything goes well. If not, the worst you can end up with is reduced mana or life. Still, this is the tree for players who are focused on reaching the end of the game.

Demonology This is the talent tree that attracts most Warlock players. Needless to say, the Demonology tree boosts the capabilities of the Warlock's pets alongside enhancing the warlock's survivability. Going deep into this tree will create a warrior-like demon that tanks and deals solid damage. As for the Warlock, this is the path towards gaining access to Stones, end-of-game summons, and buffs.

Destruction This talent tree dishes out very high DPS which is very useful for Warlocks who want to blast their way to the end game. The talents in here are all focused on improving the damage dealt by the Warlock's spells as well as the damage-dealing capabilities of their pets.

Remember, no one gets perfect Warlock builds the first time so if yours is giving you a hard time, change it a bit. Unlearn your abilities if you need to and don't think twice on trying other talents. But above all, use your talent points wisely. You only get those once you reach level 10, and the way Warlocks see them, each of the talent trees are worth distributing your points to.
