Being a facilities manager is a tough job. There are so many things that FMs are responsible for that it can often be overwhelming. After all, being depended on to manage all of the systems in can be quite the task. Not mention the fact that theyre responsible for all the record keeping, educating staff on proper use of equipment and make sure that every system is running optimally.

Luckily, one area that can make a facilities managers job easier is with a wireless clock system. In this blog, well list three ways that facilities manager can take advantage of using a wireless clock system.

Daylight Saving Time

These three words can often be a nightmare for facilities managers. This means that they are going to have to run around to every clock to reset the clock to the correct time. This can be extremely frustrating. With a wireless clock system, the master clock takes care of all of this for you. When the time change occurs, the transmitter sends out the new time to the slave clocks so the clocks dont have to be manually adjusted. This can be a major time saver for facilities managers and will help increase productivity.

Power Failures

Similarly, another very frustrating occurrence that can happen is a power failure. When the power is restored, the clocks are all off time. Sometimes it can take 12-24 hours (or more) to get the clocks back to the real time. During this time, the facilities manager will receive numerous complaints about how the clocks are wrong and be nudged about when they will tell the right time again. Wireless clocks change that. For one, battery clocks will continue to run in the absence of physical power. This means they will not deviate time since they will run off their own time base. Also, in the unlikely event that they do go off time temporarily, the master clock will correct it at the next cycle. This eliminates complaints and also keeps the buildings personnel on track with their day.

Maintenance

The biggest complaint most facilities managers have is all the maintenance in the building. There are so many things that need to be tended to and they surely dont want one more thing to take time from their busy schedules. With a wireless clock system, maintenance is extremely minimal. Simply power the master clock and put batteries in the clocks. Thats it. No setup. No hassles. No wires. Just hang the clocks are go about the day.

As you can see from the reasons above, wireless clock systems certainly have their benefits. They are easy to install and maintain.
