. No one wants to host that event either! Chinese acrobats can turn an agonizing event into a brilliant day to remember. Your guests can be thrilled and awed and amazed all in one day! You can be sure to have the special event that everyone wants to attend.
The art of the acrobat has been around for several thousand years. The people of China have a performance with its own style and content which has evolved for generations. Beginning around 400 BC, during the Warring States Period, acrobats were the entertainers of choice for the emperors and world leaders. There are historic documents recording performances with music that date back two thousand years.
During several of the later dynasties, including the Tang Dynasty, the number of performers in this acrobatic style increased and their skills improved. The shows included music and singing and dancing and even horsemanship. It was a great privilege to be invited to the imperial courts to see the acrobats perform and they began obtaining critical acclaim both in China and abroad.
The earliest acrobatic troupes evolved styles native to their area in China. Most performers used implements that were natural to their lives and their work. These included wicker rings, tables and chairs, plates and bowls and jars and even bicycles. Today there are almost twelve thousand people involved in acrobatic performances in China with approximately one hundred and twenty troupes. The performances cover everything from magic to juggling to the more traditional gymnastic feats.
Some of the most amazing stunts are a part of acrobatic tradition. The seesaw prop in which one person is tossed high in the air to land on another person's shoulders, is thrilling to watch. New additions to the performances include unicycles on raised platforms and high flying stunts mixed with juggling and magic. Flexibility and balance are core to this type of show.
The juggling acts are another important part of the showmanship involved in these acts. The performers juggle both heavy and light objects, and the more difficult the object the better the crowd reacts. Using only their feet, some of the female acrobats will actually lay down on a special platform and manipulate different props like tables, poles, planks, gongs and drums. Even porcelain jars are not immune to being tossed in the air. The light object jugglers can move paper umbrellas at a speed that amazes the audience.
Magical acts like conjuring and shocking feats of flexibility are also included in this performance type. A Chinese conjurer can hold hundreds of objects under his simple robe or loin cloth. The props appear and disappear with amazing speed and skill. Balancing bowls on their heads and catching flying plates while bent in pretzel shapes will awe the audience.
With mesmerizing skill and amazing speed, the Chinese Acrobats are a must-have for any corporate event where entertainment is valued. The pageantry and beauty of this ancient art form will leave the guests with something they will remember for a lifetime. Your next special event can be the one that everyone talks about, weeks after it's over.
