Throwing The Cast Net The Fitec Way

There are different procedures on how to throw a cast net

. It may confuse us as to which one to apply but we must remember that all the methods that we come across have been tried and tested. Therefore, there is no harm in trying any of the methods until we find the one that we like best. However, we must also bear in mind that the process on how to throw depends upon the radius of the net. FITEC is one of the manufacturers that have compiled a number of net-throwing instructions. The first step on how to throw a cast net is to allow the net's throw-line to slip through the loop and then, it must be tightened around the throwing arm.

Second step is to let the throw-line to coil into loose loops and into the throwing hand. Third, the net ring must be grasped with palm down. To describe it further, the thumb should be at the bottom while the fingers are on top.

The fourth step is to get the lead line by reaching straight to the bottom from the thumb using the free hand. Such lead line's section should then be placed into the palm while the cast net ring holds allows it to be in place.

The sixth step is to ready ourselves to throw by turning our palms down. Seventh step is to perform a full 3/4 rotation of the net not towards the target but away from the target. By this time, the throwing hand is in an outstretched position. The eighth step is to perform a smooth rotation towards the direction of the target.

The ninth step is the releasing of the net. Releasing may be done when the throwing hand reaches an angle that is in a slightly upward position towards the direction of the target. We would know that the net was thrown perfectly if it is in a circular form as soon as it hits the water.

The last step is to allow the net to sink at whatever depth we desire. As soon as the desired depth is reached, then the throw-line may be pulled to allow the net to close.
