I've been using TiVo since 2003 and I can not imagine anyone more of the DVR. We have tried others, but they were very disappointing and unreliable compared to what TiVo. I pressed my chest to my account Premiere Amazon and download videos from Amazon.com s' selection. They are in my "Now Playing" menu at any time for me to watch. I love TiVo so much, actually I bought their HD box before I bought HD TV! simple menu almost everything for you, and frankly, it's fun to use.

Works well now...but got wrong info when buying it.
The Tivo is working well now, but it was frustrating getting it to work properly because of incorrect information given to me by salespeople at Best Buy.
When I bought a new TV and the Tivo, the Best Buy salesperson said that if I wanted to connect with Netflix, I would need an ethernet connection. If I didn't want Netflix, then I was good to go with what was in the Tivo box (except that I would need to get a cable card from my cable company. WRONG!
In order to connect Tivo, you need either an ethernet connection OR a wireless device (Tivo brand only) OR a phone line adapter (Tivo brand only). So, back to Best Buy again. I bought the wireless device, since a different salesperson there said that this work very well. Even though the Tivo screen said that the wireless connection with the internet was excellent, it would take forever to connect to Tivo Central, and most times would not connect at all. Selecting a show or movie was a very time-consuming process. I took the wireless device back to Best Buy, hooked up an ethernet connection, and the Tivo now works well. A huge difference between the ethernet connection and the wireless connection.
Tivo needs to better train their retail partners so that they can explain the setup needs for Tivo to consumers.

My Premiere is the Best! My only problem is with the HD menus, they freeze. The SD menus do not have this problem. Also, disk usage needs to be added to the SD Menus. Even with this issues, I still love my TiVo!

I always said that I would not be without a TiVo. Now with TiVo Premiere, I am even more addicted. The features are unbelieveable, and is much more user friendly than other DVRs.
Small changes would take great to greatest
To talk about the good would take days...tons of space, good performance, mutli-tuners, and fast menus (in SD menu mode...HD menu still drags) But the problem is in what Tivo leaves out - every box I have ever had gives 2-3 favorites options so I can create favorites for kids, parents, or by genre...Tivo gives you a customizable channel list...just one, on or off. As well, with the ability to folder shows by title, why not by type? I can reocord up to 1300 shows on this box, so I need to be able to organize by Movies, Sitcoms, Kids shows, etc...no such option. Tivo packs a lot of content, but some of it doesn't make much sense: Live365 is one of the laziest streaming music providers as they require DJ's to pay-to-play and it is chock full of ads. Music-Choice Videos is very limited in content. I'm all for options, but to have Netflix, Blockbuster, and Amazon Movies seems reduntant. I'd rather something different as Netflix is the clear winner in that bunch. Tivo has been talking about Pandora coming on board for awhile, but as of yet, Live365 is the only unfortunate option. They do offer Tivo Desktop to stream home content from your desktop, but good luck getting it to work. Despite support telling you there are no issues, the forums are chock full of complaints with little or no replies from Support.
Don't get me wrong, I love this box and still see it as the leader. But, DirectTV's Tivo-inspired DVR had some of the things I mention here, including info like when a program first aired, so I cannot understand why Tivo wouldn't add more organization into a box that can out record everyone. In fact, it could hold all of the competitors content combined. The menus are great in SD mode (meaning SD menu mode, not to be confused with viewing content in HD which is stellar) but the HD menus drag and slow with delays that just do not work in a modern hyper-speed world, despite being attractive and laid out well. Finally, why not wide-screen, full screen TV guides?
I love my Tivo, and after using Verizon I praise the unbusy, clean layout of information, but I keep looking for simple, logical options that are not there and that is a frustration I hope the company considers addressing in short order.
