Very Impressive
This model makes Netflix on demand and Amazon on demand work flawlessly. The cable guide is light years ahead of the one that comes with the cable-box and the ability to program over the web is great. Menus are a little slow.
TiVo Premiere UI and Greatness
This is a great little box one of the best replacements for your crummy cable provided box. Many more hours of recording more flexable menus. Takes less time to find what you want and never miss a show again.
1 star off for the UI loading speed and resolution changes for some menus. "this Will Be Fixed" I was told by tivo support.
Can't wait for new firmware!
I want to start off with I love the TiVo. This is my first TiVo box. However, I have two problems with the hardware that I'm pretty sure can be fixed with a firmware update.
First, I have a Harman Kardon AVR 2600 receiver that states that it is HDMI 1.3 compliant. The TiVo box keeps displaying a message that says that the HDMI device is not supported. After doing some research, the TiVo device must think that the receiver is not 1.3 compliant.
Second, I believe the TiVo has a dual core processor, but it is only using one of the cores. Hopefully the menus will speed up once they activate the second core through firmware.
Amazing TV
I was against owning a Tivo for years but I finally broke down and bought one. And I couldn't have been more happy now that I own one. It has made watching TV so easy. I don't think Im a person that watches a lot of TV. But Tivo helps me see the shows I want to see. It gives me the ease of setting up a show or program to record no matter where Im located. If I have access to the Internet I can schedule a show to record. The ease of use is what makes Tivo so great also. Simple menus and help features. But what I really think whAt makes Tivo great is there support. In the few times I have called in for tech support everyone has been knowledgeable and very pleasant. Now days it's hard to find a company that believes in customer service but Tivo offers a great product and great customer service to back up there product. Try a Tivo I'm sure you'll like it too.
