Lion King Broadway is a Disney Musical production

, a story of a lion cub's journey to unfamiliar places on his adulthood and for the acceptance of his royal destiny. It is now Broadway's eighth longest-running show in history and one of the hottest shows of the century! Elton John was the creator for the music and with the help of Tim Rice who managed the lyrics. Hans Zimmer was the creator of the musical score with some choral arrangements by Lebo M. It was directed by Julie Taymor. Lion King Broadway was created based on the 1994 Disney animated film of the same name .

The new Disney story opens with a spectacular celebration in honor of Simba, the newborn prince. The animals of the land flock to Pride Rock, where the mystical baboon Rafiki crack open an egg-like gourd, dip his finger into the dark liquid, and anoints the little lion with a mark on his forehead.

The musical features actors in animal costumes as well as giant and hollow puppets. The production is also amazing and very fascinating because they used props and costume that is suited for every scene and characters. Just for an example they gave the viewers a feeling of being in a jungle or nature adventure. You are just sitting down their but you feel something different compared to any show. It is really a full nature blast to everyone.

The musical, The Lion King, has completed nine years on Broadway. This visual treat is based on Disneys animated feature film. This Broadway adaptation of Disneys film is the first choice in family entertainment. It has collected rave reviews since it first opened on Broadways New Amsterdam Theater in Oct 1997. Nearly nine years later, on June 13, 2006, the production moved to the Minksoff Theater, to make way for Mary Poppins, another musical from the stables of Disney. After the success of the Broadway show, the show was produced in the United Kingdom in 1999 by Harrison Lochtenberg, and continues to play at the Lyceum Theatre in London. Taymor led the British production of the show, with Melissa De Melo as the producer. The London Production recently celebrated its 10th anniversary in the West End.
