I was chosen as the exchange student to study in New York for a year
, for the last two semesters, I had done quite a good job in my study. Considering that I am outgoing and easy to make friends with different people, I stood out among us 3 students, who had all applied for this opportunity.Born as the second child in my family, I am no doubt the apple of my parents' eyes, especially my mother's, for she is always calling me her little pumpkin and trying to protect me as if I am still a 4-year-old child. Though I know that what she has done are all for my good, sometimes, I just can't help myself hating her overprotected way. The chance finally came, and it would surely make a big difference in my life. The day I left the airport, my mother burst into tears as if I would never return. Though I was also a little depressed, I still said "goodbye" quickly and went abroad without hesitation. It was really a nice experience looking at the cloud in a near distance, and I was filled with great expectations and excitement about the life I was going to experience.
Life abroad was quite colorful and busy, and I was happy that I was able to make friends with different people, thus broadening my horizon and enriching my life experience. Teachers here were very friendly, and no matter what difficulties you came across in life, you might come to them and sought for help. And it was not until I had to do all things myself and plan everything myself that I finally realized that love was consisted in the daily boring things my mother had done for me.
Now, I also do part-time jobs as my classmates, for I want to buy my mother a Tiffany silver jewelry necklace when I save enough money. And with the most sincerity, I would like to help her wear it, seeing her smiling like an angel.
