There are five types of tigers. They are the Bengal / Indian tiger, the Indochinese tiger, Siberian / Amur tiger, South China tiger, and the Sumatran tiger.

The most common type of tiger is the Bengal /Indian tiger. They live in the rain forests and grasslands of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Burma, China, India and Nepal.

The Siberian/Amur tiger is the largest species of naturally occurring feline. These tigers can be found in Eastern Russia, in the Amur-Ussuir province of Primroriski and Khabarovski.

The south China tiger is quite small in size and there are only 30 of these tigers left in existence.

White tigers are born when both tiger and tigress that mate carry the unusual gene for white coloring. Nevertheless the double recessive allele in the genomic code only turns up naturally about once in every 10,000 births. Tigers are generally night hunters. They can easily take down large animals. They hunt deer, wild pigs and cattle. The usual tigers are orange in color with black stripes. But according to species, the color intensity and the marking patterns can differ.
