Time Management Tips- Planning To Fail?

5 reasons people don't plan - can you relate to one (or more) of these

1. Too busy - planning is important but not urgent so it gets put off to another day. Most of us however adopt a reactive pattern and it's difficult to plan when in the middle of a reactive day

2. Prefer to DO rather than think and I am definitely one for this but only after I have set out what I plan to achieve in a week.

3. They are successful and reach goals without planning. Most of us are some what successful without much planningwhether this could have done easier, with less effort in less time is a moot point

4. It stiffles their creativity and spontenatietyThey turn their nose up to planning, feeling hemmed in, stiflling their creative juices, that a creative job cannot be hemmed in to a certain time frame life is too complex to wing it all the time. If you want to use your time well you have to paln the better at planning you are the more able you are to take advantage of opportunities as they arise

5. It's too complex and time consuming planning is systematic whats the next step.. Rather than thinking whole job. What have I got on my plate/what are my responsiblities rather than what has come up today

A lot of people I work with don't plan because something always comes up to blow their plans out of the water... if this is going to happen, why do we not take it into consideration?

Allowing some time for the unexpected ensures we don't over plan our day AND enables us to absorb things that will inevitably come up.

Give it a try and let me know how you go? Alternative you have another trick, share it!
