Most of us wish to that there is more time each day. It seems that there is so much to do yet time is so little. So how do we get to be more productive without stretching ourselves too thin.
Do you ever feel overwhelmed at the end of the day? You wonder where has time fly. There is still have much to do and you need to work longer to finish you task at hand.
Try this 5 pointers to help you be more productive. So that you can get more done for less time.
Plan Daily
Before you go to bed at night. Plan the next day of work. Make a list of things that are important and a must do for the day. Plan your work and work your plan each day. Failure to plan for each day would mean getting distracted by thing around you instead of focusing your energy on what matter most. Remember, most of us do not plan to fail but we fail to plan.Use
A Pen
Create a habit of writing down thing you need to do on paper. It does not matter if it old fashion pen and paper or some high tech gear like a PDA or Palm Pilot. You need to be comfortable using it. When we write We get clarity and we see the bigger picture for the things we need to do for the day. Details are important but manage them with the pen. If you wan to manage it you have to measure it first. .Writing things down helps you to more easily remember all that you need to accomplish.
Procrastinate
Procrastination happens due to three reasons. We perceive the task at hand to be difficult unpleasant or it represent a tough choice. There are many approaches to over come procrastination. Some of my personal favorite include
1. Breaking down work into smaller task. So that it does not feel overwhelming
2. Find new creative ways to work on task at hand.
3. Barter with co-worker.
4. Outsource to others.
Prioritize
Whenever we create a list. We can break down our work into crucial and non crucial items on them. We tend to give our attention to less important things because they are usually easier and quicker to do. Prioritize our list of work create a sense of urgency because we are telling our mind that this work is important.You may not get everything done on your list, but you will get the most important things done. This is working smarter, not harder, and getting more done in less time.
Stay Balance
Our life consists of this few important areas. They are Family, Health Financial,Spiritual, Work. There is no way to divide your time equally in each area everyday. There will be days when you need to spend more time to work on certain areas. The trick is to allocated time for it. Make time each day to work on these area no matter how busy you may be. It is vital if you want to achieve a more balance life style.
