Tinnitus - Treatments And Cures
Tinnitus is defined as constant, intermittent or pulsing noises originating within the ears although there is no external sound around
. It is common. About one in five people between 55 and 65 years old suffer have it. For most cases, it's not a serious problem but can be symptoms of underlying condition.
Before you find a remedy, it is necessary to understand the differences first. Only by knowing the real problem that you can find a solution that handles it instead of the symptom. Symptom can come and go. And often the solution is only temporary. A workaround may also work, but the solution is not permanent either.
Depends on who you consult with, drug therapy may be used as a way to provide relief. However, this may or may not be a permanent solution as it doesn't address the real problem but only the symptom. Some medications will make the problem worse. Aspirin, for instance, may stop the ringing for good but it can also cause tinnitus. For the same reasons, anything that deals with the symptom, including surgical procedures, cannot be seen as a fully effective solution.
A trick that often helps a lot is masking as it cause the patient to feel better. Wear the voice mask in the ear. It will produce the white sound to neutralize whatever inner sound you hear. But again, this is not something that will last as it does nothing to cure.
Some people turn on the radio during the night to neutralize the inner noise and that helps them fall into sleep. This can help because it prevents the inner noise to turn into vicious stress. Consider the tinnitus cycle. Stress causes tinnitus. The irritating noises annoy so much that the stress level often increase, and so on.
Biofeedback is another possible treatment. This exercise involves controlling the pulse and tension of the muscle. The purpose is to reduce stress and anxiety, which is often the contributing factor. By getting rid of the cause, the problem will often begin to subside.
If you are expecting an ultimate solution, I hate to say it but it doesn't exist. Many natural remedies have been proven to be more effective because of their approaches. It is recommended that the patients address the underlying causes through proper diet, health improvement and lifestyle changes. Of course, this is time consuming but the good news is that the result can be permanent.
There is no need for expensive medications. You can start as simple as avoiding loud environment. Noise-induced hearing loss is a major reason for tinnitus. If you haven't, start exercising regularly to increase mental and physical fitness. Don't laugh, but diet also plays a role when healing tinnitus.
That's not all though. You can do something else. Treating tinnitus often involves trial and error. One thing that works particularly well and augment your effort is homeopathic treatment. This approach is not only safe but also effective for many diseases and symptoms. The key is to improve well being. If the problem is not there, tinnitus simply cannot recur, hence getting rid of the problem forever.
