Tinting Your Car Windows

Whatever the reason you have to tint your car's windows

, make sure that you go to a good company and that you follow city and state regulations. Doing your homework is the first step to ensuring that your windows look good and you won't get a citation for them

The first thing to do is to look up the companies in your area on the internet. Most stores are listed on Google and have online reviews from customers. Bad reviews can help you decide which companies you should definitely not go to, and good reviews will tell you which companies to call.

After finding a few companies with a good reputation, give them a call and ask for a price estimate. Prices may vary significantly or not at all, but you should call each company to make sure you know who gives the best price.

Also discuss what their warranty is for the window tinting. You want to make sure that their products will not bubble, crack, or anything else. Having such things happen can be dangerous while driving and will impair your vision. A long warranty will guarantee a long lifetime and a quality product.

Once you find the place with a good reputation and decent pricing, take your car in and decide which grade tinted you prefer. There are very light or very dark, depending on what percentage of UV-ray you want to get through your car glass.

You should also make sure that the company is certified so that they can provide you with documentation that states that they have properly installed the tinting and that it is legal within that state. Just in case you do get pulled over for your windows, you can show the law enforcement officer the papers that show that you are not in violation of city or state laws.

This means that you should do your homework and look up the laws before you get anything done to your car. Every state has different laws concerning vehicle tinting, and you need to make sure that you are following the laws in the state that your vehicle is registered in.

Not everyone can have presidential-grade tinted car glass, in-fact, only the President can. Everyone else must have windows that the driver can see out of and law enforcement officers can see into.

Make sure you know which windows in your vehicle can be tinted, some states allow you to have all of them, but other states only allow the rear. Some states prohibit tinting the windshield and back window, or you can only tint the back seat side glass.

Another factor that is written in laws is the sun exposure being allowed inside of the car. Having tinted windows reduces the amount of UV-rays that get in through the glass but most states have laws regarding the minimum amount of sun exposure that needs to get through the glass.

This can vary anywhere for 10 to 100 percent sun-exposure, depending on state regulation. Though looking up the laws can be confusing, getting them correct before you tint the glass will save you money not only on traffic citations, but on the money it will take to get your windows re-tinted after the citation.

A universal law amongst states is that no vehicle may have any type of reflective covering on their car windows. This is because the sun can reflect off of it and impair the vision of other drivers, making road conditions very dangerous. This also prevents law enforcement officers from seeing the driver.

There are countless variations between states and laws, so you need to know the exact laws of the state in which your vehicle is legally registered. Following these regulations will ensure your safety, the safety of other drivers, and prevent you from receiving a citation. Make sure you do your homework and find the right company to do the job for you and that it is done well and within the legal guidelines that have been set.
