It doesn't matter if you are talking about homework or toys, be sure that everything has a designated spot and try to get everybody in the habit of putting things in that spot when they are finished. Of course, the same would also go for clothing and even dirty laundry.

Have you been keeping a calendar? This is also something that can be very useful and even young children can appreciate keeping a schedule in this way. It is important to make sure that your children are going to be able to see, at a glance that there is something on the schedule for them. The easiest way for you to do this is to color code the calendar, assigning a specific color to each child or perhaps to the specific sure that is being done.

Losing things is a big problem, especially when children are of school age. It doesn't matter if you are talking about clothing or if you are talking about other items that are taken to school, it's important to make sure that they are labeled. You can purchase clothing labels in order to put in lunch boxes, on coats and even on the tongue of the shoes. You can get specific labels for this purpose or perhaps use some type of personalized gift tags in order to dress things up a little bit.

Backpacks can go a long way in helping children to be organized as well. The problem is, backpacks do tend to get cluttered after some time has passed so it is necessary to make sure the time is set aside to clean these items regularly. Many parents have found it beneficial to set up a time at the end of the week when the backpack is completely emptied and then refilled. This will help to clean out any of the clutter and it will also allow you to see if anything happened to me miss throughout the week.

These are just a few of the suggestions on how to keep your home organized. Just keep in mind, and organized home tends to run well and that makes everybody comfortable, both the parents and the children.
