Tips For Maximizing Your Closet Storage Space
Waking up in the morning and looking in your closet for the clothes you want to wear
should not be at all stressful, but the fact of the matter is that most closets are not efficiently organized, leading many people to scratch their heads and rummage around before finding what they want. This can lead to many a stressful morning, when you're already sleepy-eyed and hurrying to get off to work. However, there are easy steps you can take to maximize your closet and closet cabinets.
BE REALISTIC
Your closet can only hold what it can hold. Having expectations that are too high can lead to you overstuffing your closet, which is messy and altogether inefficient.
THE BASICS
Remove bulky items that are rarely used, such as the old prom dress or wedding dress wrapped in plastic, and store them elsewhere, such as your garage, by using garage wall storage units.
Use two bars in your closet. The top one for blouses, T-shirts and sweatshirts, and the bottom one for pants, shorts and skirts. This will practically double the space you currently have available in your closet.
Use the back door of your closet to utilize hooks for items such as bathrobes, or a shoe rack for all your footwear. Clearing up the clutter on the floor will help keep your closet looking clean and efficient.
GIVE A LITTLE
It's good for people to give to others. Every season make it a point to go through your clothing and search for items that you no longer wear or fit in to, and give those clothes away. Not only will it feel good to help others, it will also be optimizing your closet space.
GET PROFESSIONAL HELP
If your closet feels simply out of control, there are professionals who can help you. These people make it their business to create designer closet cabinets and storage options by using items such as ClosetMaid organizers. These can not only be completely useful, but also aesthetically pleasing.
If you are interested in making your closet into another room of your home, and not just a crammed space for clothing, you should consider talking to professionals to create custom closet cabinets for your home.
