Tips For Negotiation While Buying A Used Car

Everybody has a dream of owning a car, and they want this dream to get fulfilled as soon as possible

. As the effect of recession has not been overcome yet, it is still not feasible for many to buy a brand new car. Nowadays, buying a used car seems to be much more feasible than buying a new car. However with the ongoing monetary crunch, even buying a used car is not easy in itself. To get you the best deal, your negotiation power also plays a vital role in taking decisions.

Before coming to the negotiation level, it is always advisable that you must do a research while planning to own a used car. Always be confident about what you want before going to the dealer. In order to do this research, you can interact with a few dealers through mails or on phone and inquire about the availability of models, price, etc. Once you are sure about your choice of car model, your budget, and the market condition, you can now negotiate the price as per your comfort.

Negotiation Tips:

1.Never let the dealer know about the exact amount that you want to spend.

2.It would be better if quote the price that is little lower than what you are exactly willing to pay.

3.Be careful that the price that you are quoting should not be too low; else the dealer may loose interest in you.

4.Even if you have cash in hand, do not let the dealer know whether you will pay by cash or any other mode of payment.

5.If you are planning to own a second hand car by financing, make sure that the loan has been approved by the time you choose the vehicle.

6.Spend few hours in negotiating while pretending look for other options as well and try to peek in the dealers mind. Let the dealer quote a price.

7.If the dealer is offering unexpectedly cheap deal, do not get over excited. There may be something fishy about the deal. The car may be priced low, either because there is some trick in the dealers mind, or because there is some fault in the vehicle itself.

8.It is more important to probe into the matter whenever you are offered the deal at such a low and unrealistic price.

9.Do not ever hesitate to ask questions to the dealer as it is your negotiation only that will make you investment either worthy or useless.

10.If you feel that you are being unnecessarily pressurized to get into the deal, or the price quoted is too high, feel free to walk away.

11.Do not get attracted to the lucrative offers of getting some extra accessories free of cost. Remember that nothing comes free and you will be paying unknowingly paying for each and every accessory.

Keep in mind that the most effective bargain strategy is your ability to walk away.
