1) Make Your Headlines Count!

When your articles are placed in an article directory, generally only the headlines will be shown. This means that you have about ten words or less to grab the reader's attention so that they click on your headline. This means that your headlines have to be as interesting as possible! Try to make them catchy and witty, but also make sure that the headline clearly indicates the topic of the article so that people will know what to expect from it.

2) Sell Information, Not Yourself!


Article marketing isn't about directly selling your products or your services - it's about giving people information. The more informative and useful your articles are, the better chance you'll have that people will go on to clicking on the link to your website, where you can then sell your product. Publishing articles that are solely promotional and don't provide any real information will only turn people off.

3) Combine Quality With Quantity

Many people think that the more articles they submit to article directories, the more exposure they'll get. However, this isn't exactly true. Articles have to be informative, helpful, and easy to read. If they aren't, then people aren't going to continue to read your articles, and the whole point of article marketing will be lost. First, focus on the quality of your articles by making sure that they are articles people will actually want to read. Then build on them and continue to add more articles to more directories. There's nothing wrong with having a large quantity of articles in directories. In fact, it's encouraged! You just need to make sure that they're quality articles first.

4)Promote Your Articles!

Yes, the search engines will be a huge help in getting your articles exposure to the most people possible. But you'll need to do some promoting yourself if you want to get the most exposure possible. Promote your articles that are in directories whenever you can - on Twitter, Facebook, your blog, or in your monthly newsletter. And of course, always make sure that you include a link so that people can read them in their entirety.
