Capturing the waterfall images are always challenging as water flow is in rapid motion. Thus, it becomes challenging to click the moving objects. But obviously its not impossible to click beautiful images of waterfall with the camera. All you need to know few tips which will help you to click easily the waterfall photographs.
Shutter Speed
Understanding the shutter speed is necessary for waterfall photography. It is the time which a sensor sees the scene, attempting to click. It is measured in a fraction of seconds.
Aperture
The second important thing is to understand the concept of aperture. The larger the opening of aperture, lighter gets enter in an image sensor. Aperture and shutter speed go hand in hand, if you change the value of one, it should be comfortable with the other.
Depth of the field
Depth of field can be controlled by three major things : focal length of your lens, aperture, shooting distance. Considering the major factors, it results in a deeper depth of the field.
Watch a composition
There are lots of angles that photographers can use to click waterfall shots. It can be either the wide angle shot which cover the whole waterfall or can be a one which zoom in the small portion or stream within falls. Different of angles will capture it differently. All these variations in angles and settings can create variations in the images. Also make sure to experiment it with distinct shutter speed so that you can compare the impact.
Bracket the shots
Ensure that you are using the bracketing feature to get lots of images at varying shutter speed and aperture.
