Tips Of The Trade For Finding A Bus Charter
Perhaps you have a big family or you're planning a trip with your Sunday School class
. There are a ton of reasons why you may want to travel via bus charter instead of a caravan of cars or taking a plane. So, why should you take a bus? First of all, buses are safe. When you compare buses, planes and automobiles, autos have the most deaths per ten billion passenger miles followed by airlines.
In our green conscious world, another great reason to travel via bus charter is that it's more fuel efficient and better for the environment. Compared to planes, trains, and automobiles, buses use the least amount of BTU's per passenger mile. Because of this, buses are just more fuel efficient than other modes of transportation.
Another plus with chartering a bus is that you will get exactly where you need to go. Buses will take you right to your destination whereas a plane or train will get you only to the station. Then, it's up to you to find another mode of transportation to see the city or get you to your hotel. Additionally, a bus charter can take you on the sites of a city and be with you the entire day. And probably the best reason, in today's hard hit economy, to take a bus charter to your vacation destination is that it's cheaper. You'll find that chartering a bus is about half the cost of flying and it provides local travel unlike a plane.
So, you know the reasons why you should charter a bus for your next large scale travel plans, but do you know what to expect? Plan on putting down a deposit of around 20% when you book your trip as most coach companies do require this. If you plan on drinking alcohol on the trip, know that there is usually an additional deposit. When planning your budget, know that your final payment will be due between 10 and 30 days before your departure date. If you do have to cancel your trip, most bus charter companies will allow you to do so within 2-4 weeks before travel without any penalty. Also plan on tipping your driver between 10 and 20 percent at the end of the trip.
The best way to find a good price on a bus charter is to simply smile and dial. Look online or in the Yellow Pages and start calling and asking for quotes. Compare apples to apples and make sure that the quotes are for the same exact services. Once you find the best buy, ask to see one of the buses before you book. Once you're satisfied, sit back and let someone else navigate the traffic.
