Then, there's the matter of learning how to cut it the right way. Once it's cut, how do you smoke it properly? The questions might seem endless, but one need not be overwhelmed. Cigar smoking is really a simpler matter than it seems.

The fact that cigar smoking is a simpler manner than it seems is welcome news indeed. After all, it's supposed to be a relaxing, enjoyable activity, not a stressful one. Therefore, let us try to simplify matters even further for you. There is one other matter to consider. That matter, of course, is the lighting of the cigar itself.

Obviously, you can't smoke a cigar until it's been lit. You do want it to be on fire, but you don't want it to be too hot. To get it on fire in the first place, though, sometimes requires a bit of finesse. For starters, one of the more important skills to learn is how to light a cigar with matches. First of all, you want to make sure you're using wooden matches, and not paper ones. The reason for this is that it burns long enough to get the cigar properly lit.

The first step is to let the match burn long enough to get rid of all the sulphur. That way, the sulphur won't adversely affect the taste of your cigar. Once the flame is ready, hold your cigar near the flame and begin to draw on it. As you do so, rotate the car. Rotating the cigar will ensure that it stays lit longer. The key here is to get the entire foot of the cigar evenly lit. If it isn't, then you can blow on it gently. That should help.

You could, of course, also use a lighter. However, you shouldn't use a Zippo lighter. The reason for this is that its fuel will adversely affect the taste of your cigar for sure. After all, a cigar can represent a significant investment. You want to appreciate is flavor fully, with no distractions.
