Since a niche market is typically small, having too many competition will not do your business any good. Why? Because the niche market generally have small consumer population. That is why it's called a niche in the first place. You are providing service or selling certain products to a select number of people. If you have too many competitors, your business may not survive.
When you have chosen a niche product or service, make sure that it has marketability. It has to be marketable for it to work. There is no point in selling products or services that no one wants to buy. The point here is that your product or service, obviously, has to have substantial demand. The key to picking the right niche product is by conducting a study or thorough research to help you figure out what products or services have substantial demands. When you know what the market needs or demands, you will be able to cater to those unmet needs more successfully and productively.
Find a niche market that is open. Avoid engaging in a niche market that already has too many players. If there are a few competitions, however, the best move is to do research on your competitors.
