The main point in organizing a baby shower is to honor the birth of a child. The whole family and their relatives will have a chance to sit together and get to know one another better. However, a baby shower is also a chance to invite friends and colleagues to share the joy with the parents.

The expectant mother will receive gifts and supplies from guests. These gifts will be used for, and by, the new baby. Before the party, the mother gives a list of what she and her baby need. The guests will then buy gifts based on what the mother needs.

Before you throw out a shower party, you have to consider thy type of the party you want to organize. There are many types, including parties with only women and parties for couples.

When you select a party with only feminine attendees, you have to make sure all the activities are feminine targeted. Some activities include spa showers and tea parties. The main color of the party will be either pink or blue. Remember, pink for baby girl and blue for baby boy.

You can also throw a party for men only. This kind of party will involve sporting activities. If the parents are expecting their second child, they may have had enough supplies for the child from the previous child. This is when they want to make a party where the guests will give books as gifts so that they can make a small library for the child.

The baby shower normally takes place a few months before the child is born. However, there are showers that take place after the mother has given birth to the infant. This way of doing has the advantage of allowing the guests to see the baby and buy gifts accordingly.

Invitations should be sent four to six weeks before the occasion. Don't send invitations too close to the event because there are chances that some guests cannot make it. If you want to invite guests from far away towns, you should notice them even earlier so that they have to time to arrange their job and prepare gifts.

One of the most paramount parts of a shower party is food and drink. You should have enough food for not only the invited guests but also some unexpected guests. You have to be prudent so that when expected guests come, you don't go short of food.
