Modern cameras are much more user-friendly than cameras of the past
. Anyone can take great pictures with the right camera. But you can really move your cameras up a notch by following the following tips.
1. Background is important. Before taking the picture, look at the surroundings. Sometimes moving just a tiny bit will make for a much more beautiful shot. For example, why have a trash can in the background if five feet away are beautiful flowers?
2. Is it light enough outside to read a book? If so, you really don't need a flash. If your camera provides an option to turn off the flash, use natural lighting instead.
Taking pictures indoors? If it doesn't seem light enough inside, you can put your subjects near the window on sunny days and use the fill flash. This will be less harsh than the regular flash.
3. Your subjects will love you for this next trick - make them appear slimmer by aiming the camera slightly down at their face and get a three quarter view. This will reveal more of the face.
4. The focus feature is very important. It allows you to get closer to your intended subject, which will enable you to really show exactly what you intend to show in your picture.
5. Remember not to place your subject in the dead center of your picture. The subject should be just off center. If you are taking a picture of a large group of people, just find the middle of the group. This is the focus that should be just off center.
Most of us will never actually win awards for our photos, but who needs awards when you've got all these great memories! Your loved ones will enjoy your masterpieces for years to come!
