Tips To Cope With Jet Lag Problem

When you are going to abroad to enjoy your holiday

, a common problem occurs i.e. jet lag. Crossing the time zones during traveling is just one of the causes. It can be resolve through some advance knowledge and preparation.

Crossing the two or more than two time zones is primary cause of jet lag. This is worse on eastbound flight because you have to regulate to an earlier schedule. There are some other causes like lack of sleep before you travel, physical tiredness from doing too much too fast just before you leave. Drink plenty of water to reduce the chance of dehydration. Disturb the regular schedule of wake or sleep, climate difference, inactivity and lack of exercise are other causes of jet lagging.

Slow reflexes, fatigue, anxiety, sinus irritation, sleep disturbance, gastrointestinal upset caused by unfamiliar food and water, poor appetite, sluggish thought processes, disorientation, swollen extremities, irritability and sweating are the possible symptoms of jet lag.

1. If possible you can schedule your alarm clock and meals for the new time zone.

2. Do your all packing before the last minutes.

3. Choose right flights so that you can arrive well in advance for your various activities. Always prefer daytime flying in both directions.

4. Try to follow previous schedules for your medication.

5. Drink plenty of mineral or packed water not local water. Local water may create some health related problems like cold, diarrhea etc.

6. Don't sit for a long time at your seat. Get up and move around for proper blood circulation.

7. After arrival, don't spend all your time cooped up indoors. Go out side in sun and fresh air.

8. Take a hot bath before going to bed. This helps to retune your body temperature.

Every person has a different capacity to adjust with new climate. Some people are more adaptable than others and exhibit only few jet lag symptoms. With proper advance planning, your next plane trip could be better.
