The 'Disk Utility' is capable of handling almost all Mac OS X file system issues

. But , in case of severe corruption, even this utility can fail and quits while prompting some errors. If a user faces such situations, the first step he should take is to look for a valid data backup that might be used to restore lost or missing data.
