Tips To Help You Stay Healthy And Happy At Work
One of the most important things when it comes to stress management is to stay healthy and happy in the office
. This can be a tough thing to do, especially when projects and tasks start piling up and deadlines start looming over your shoulder. There are a lot of things that can contribute to your overall mood and health in the office, such as your workspace, how you deal with the people around you, and even your posture!
1.Keep moving! Nothings worse than just sitting down at your desk the whole day. If you have your own room at the office, try to get up and walk around your space for a bit every 30 minutes. If you dont have the luxury of being able to stand and walk around for fear of being told off by a superior, look up some exercises that you can do while sitting down!
2.Sit straight! Posture is actually one of the key elements of stress management and being healthy and happy at the office. Slumping down in your seat will not only give you back pains, but will also make you feel a bit lazy or turn your productive mood off. Sitting straight will help you stay comfortable in your seat for longer periods of time, and helps you feel more energetic, too!
3.Do the hardest tasks first! Putting off the most difficult task for later will only make it more difficult to handle. The first thing you should do when you get to the office is to handle any of the heavier tasks first, then move on to the smaller ones afterward. This tip is one of the basics of stress management, so make sure you dont forget it!
4.Rest your eyes! Most people work with computers these days, and thats often the cause of eye problems and strain. You can hardly call yourself healthy and happy if your eyes are always in pain, or if your eyesight degrades over time! As you work on your computer, make it a point to look at something at a distance (preferably at something 20 feet away from you) for twenty seconds. This should be done every 20 minutes to ensure that your eyes dont get tired!
5.Dont starve yourself! Even when theres a deadline to beat, you shouldnt allow yourself to get so hungry to the point that your hunger pangs are almost unbearable. If you often find yourself in a situation wherein you cant leave your cubicle and youre starting to get hungry, make sure to stock up on healthy snacks to munch on as you work. Nuts, crackers, and dried fruit are good choices for this!
Even in the most stressful work environment, you can always get by with proper stress management and a good, positive attitude. Just follow the tips listed above and youll be well on your way to becoming a truly well-rounded person who enjoys work just as much as you enjoy your free time!
