Tips To Keep Snooker Tables Clean At All Times
Snooker is one of the games that are enjoyed by children and adults alike
. This is the main reason for many people to buy pool tables for their homes. Buying a pool table involves a significant amount of money. Therefore, it is important to ensure its longevity so it serves you well for years and offers good value for the money spent. Well maintained Snooker tables can last for generations without as much as a scratch and prove to be an asset at homes as well as offices. If you are either planning on buying a pool table or already have one, here are a few simple tips to help you keep them clean at all times.
One of the simplest ways to keep the Snooker tables in their prime for years on end is to brush off the dust from the playing area at the end of each day. More often than not, people do not brush the felt for days after playing Snooker. As a result, the fine chalk powder as well as the tiny dust particles get settled on the felt and do not come out easily. This impedes the smooth movement of the ball during the course of the game. It can also damage the felt over a period of time and replacing the felt can cost a fortune. The simplest way to avoid all these problems is to use a good pool table brush that has long bristles along the edges and small bristles in the centre to remove the fine dust after every game.
Cleaning the Snooker tables at least once each well thoroughly is highly recommended. It is advisable to first start with the Snooker balls. Remove the balls from the pockets and lay them on the table. Then, take a soft piece of cotton cloth, dip it in warm water and squeeze out the excess. Now, use this cloth to neatly wipe the balls. Follow it up by cleaning the balls with a dry cloth to remove the moisture. This prevents the fine dust from settling on the ball. Once the entire process is complete, you can place the balls in their box and store it away for use when needed. The next step is to start cleaning the pool table. Using the pool table brush remove the fine dust from the rails. Then, use the brush to remove the fine dust from the felt using circular motions to prevent any damage. Direct the dust towards the pockets.
After you have cleaned the felt and the rails of the Snooker tables, it is time to bring out the vacuum cleaner. Using the long and thin attachment provided with the nozzle clean the pockets and the crevices of the pool table. Once this is done, it is time to polish the legs and sides of the table. Use a good wood polish and apply it on the wooden frame. This ensures the shine does not fade away. Applying a coat of anti-termite polish over the wood polish will prevent termite attacks, thus allowing you to enjoy playing Snooker on this table for years.
