It is ideal to use divided boxes for glass items because they guarantee extra protection for glassware. They can be purchased from a wine or liquor store.

Generously use box sealing tape at the bottom of the box.

Cushioning foam and packing peanuts should be placed at the bottom before any wrapped pieces are placed in the box.

Wrap glass items in paper towels. This is done because paper towels provide adequate cushioning to your glass items as long as you are using more than one piece of it. Fill the box with as many cushioning items as you can so that the items cant shift around in the box. Dont force items into the box as there are chances of the items getting broken.

Plates and flat dishes should be wrapped first and then bundled with 3-4 plates of the same size together. Place them vertically next to each other; dont place them flat. Put cushion foam between each plate and fill the sides of the box with bubble wrap or packing peanuts.

When packing glasses, you should fill the insides of the open glass with cushioning foam. Then pack it in padding material and tape the ends securely. The tape is to keep the protective material around the glass item in place, but dont over-use as it may damage the glass when you unpack.

Add extra cushioning around the handle, while packing cups. Put crumpled up tissue papers inside cups to help absorb any jolts during the move. The handles should face in one direction while packing.

Don't stack glass items right next to other glass items in a box. Do you hear the sound of glass items clinking against each other? Then it is best rearrange and repack the glass items.

Tape the top of the box securely and use wide packing tape to close the box securely. Write Handle with Care on top of it and also include the exact contents of the box so that movers can be alert while handling.
