Tips To Prevent Home Invasion-security Systems And Good Sense
With all the business security available to us and the many different methods to
secure our place of work, we often forget that the home too may be a target and could certainly benefit from the installation of a security system
So many high profile cases of a home invasion where violence has been used have been in the medial recently that it behooves all of us to pay attention and to take steps to secure both our business environment as well as our home environment.
A home security system can be as state of the art as you'd like it to be and offer the same level of protection to your most precious asset, your family, as it does for the business environment.
Home invasions even in small rural areas are up in the last two years to numbers that are virtually unheard of. Simply because you live in an upscale area is not reason to believe that it can't happen to you.
Statistics are telling us that rural areas are being more frequently targeted, that the elderly are a primary target, but that nearly any age can be affected by the home invasion.
The invaders are primarily looking for a fast and easy target. Make yourself less of a target by getting and installing an alarm system. Keep the system armed when you are paying less attention, such as when outdoors in the back yard, when you are not expecting guests, when you will be showering and are home alone, and particularly when the family is asleep.
Home invaders generally use the front door. They may kick it in or use another method of surprising you. The home alarm system offers them a little surprise of their own to be greeted with.
Do not be afraid to ask who it is when you hear a knock on the door and certainly do not be afraid to not open your door.
Be certain that your doors have secure locks and chain locks. Deadbolt methods are the best means to secure your door against intrusion. In addition, consider adding a security system or a monitored alarm system of some variety.
While there is certainly some expense incurred, what is more worth spending money on than an alarm system that protects your home and family?
