Tips on How to Save Your Relationship

Almost all couples start out madly in love. In the beginning, you get those butterflies and you just cannot wait to see your significant other. Then the love and the lust start to fizzle. What happened, you may ask? Sometimes it is just the makings of everyday life that happened. When you work a regular job and have kids to attend to it is sometimes difficult to find time to be excited and to get all dressed up for your partner. When this happens most people feel sad and are bothered. They may even feel unloved. Here is some advice on how to save your relationship when you have graduated from the ever fabulous honeymoon stage.

When you ask how to save your relationship, you need to be sure that you are ready to commit to saving it. It may not always be easy. Just like in life, relationships have good times and bad times. If you and your partner have a solid foundation then you are more likely than not going to be survivors at the end of the day. The more solid the foundation, the better chance for success, relationship wise at least. As damaging as the big problems can be, it is the smaller every day things that cause you to roll your eyes that account for 80 percent of break ups. Everyone has different opinions and everyone was raised differently. So who are we to say what is right, what is wrong and what should and should not be done. The key is to approach these little nuisances as a couple. Instead of saying , "I hate when you're always late" try "It would be better for us if we left a little earlier". This way you are able to get your point across without your significant other feeling attacked.

When you want to know how to save your relationship it is so much easier to put the blame on your partner than it is to take responsibility for some of the problems you have. Many times when couples are in a heated arguments they forget that their end goal is to resolve an issue, not to win a fight. As hard as it may be, take the time to listen to what your partner is saying. You may be surprised that you both want the same thing and that you have just been misunderstanding each other the whole time. If the two of you are intent on making a conscious decision to keep your relationship alive, show each other that you love each other. It sounds simple, but when you get busy it is easy to forget to even kiss your spouse on the cheek after a long day at work. Little things like a good morning post it when you are too busy to eat breakfast together can go a long way.

Rekindle the love that you once shared by making time for each other. Not every night needs to be date night but once a week is a good start. Take time to enjoy each others company to remind yourselves of why you started your relationship in the first place.
