Tips to Getting a Six Pack - 3 Tips on Nutrition


You NEED to get your nutrition and diet in check if you want to get a six pack. Too many people work out like CRAZY but ultimately come to the realization that they just can't get rid of that last TIIINY bit of extra flab. You know, the flab that would take their "four pack and some" to a full-fledged six pack. If you've gotten close to getting a six pack I KNOW you know what I'm talking about. Take the following tips seriously.

1. Cut Back on Grain Consumption.

This first tip is based off of the fact that a large percentage of Americans today consume an overwhelming amount of grain. This includes your breads, bagels, cereals, and pastas. Statistics show that the average American eats more than 30% more packaged food than fresh food and consume more packaged food per person than anyone else in the world! I am a strong advocate for incorporating more natural foods into one's diet and it really isn't natural for the human body to consume such excessive amounts of processed carbs (refined grain-based starches and refined sugars).


The types of carbs we should be focusing our nutrition around are our fruits and vegetables. That's right soon-to-be-fit people, EAT YOUR GREENS. Your body will SERIOUSLY thank you for it. If you want to argue how there's a lot of sugar in fruits and berries, save it. Fruits and berries have the fiber (unlike fruit juices) to slow the body's blood sugar response. They're good for you and they'll give you more good nutrients.

2. Eat HIGH QUALITY proteins.

As I've mentioned before, I'm a strong advocate of the "natural side" in foods. Today, our food culture is quickly being dominated by science in a way that makes it harder to find more natural sources of food.

When you're working out hard (which I know you will be), it's SMART to consume good proteins afterwards. Increasing your consumption of QUALITY proteins such as grass-fed meats, grass-fed dairy, and also non-meat options such as nuts and beans will do wonders for your body. When you eat these quality proteins, you will notice both the difference in taste and the amount of food you will need to eat. Quality over quantity.

3. Eat Healthy Fats.

Yep, I said it. FATS! Think fish, nuts, avocados, extra virgin olive oils, organic free range eggs, grass-fed meats, seeds, and more! These foods are rich in the type of fats necessary to maintain your fat burning ability. And remember, think natural in your options. You will feel full faster and you won't need to eat as much. Your wallet won't hurt as much as you may think and your body will reward your attention to it tremendously.


I'm gonna throw in ONE more tip: Expand Your Knowledge. In order to have a six pack, you need to be a fit person. What this means is that you can't simply go through the motions and expect your six pack and optimum health level to be something that will last. You need to BE a healthy person. Get educated about what it means to be in the best shape of your life.
