Always wear the protective gloves and goggles before doing any type of maintenance work. First of all check the battery. Recharge the battery completely. Once the battery is full charged remove the charging cord from the battery terminals. Check the water level inside the battery cells. The plates of the battery cells have to be completely immersed in water. If the water level is low, fill it with distilled water.

Check the external battery casing for any cracks or breaks. Always keep the battery casing and terminals clean. The battery casing can be cleaned using a mixture of baking soda and water. The terminals can be prevented from rusting by applying a small coat of petroleum jelly over the terminals.

Always make sure to maintain the correct tire pressure. Fill it with air if it is low. Once the tire is worn out, replace with new ones. Once in while get your cart examined by a professional mechanic.
