Lay Flat on Shelves: These include jumpers, cardigans, joggers, swimwear, underwear, t-shirts and other spots kits.
Keep on Racks: They include hats and scarves, and ties and belts.
Trousers
As far as trousers are concerned, fold them along the crease and drape over the bar of a trousers hanger. You can also use a grip hanger as well.
Skirts
You need to hand the skirts by the waistband loops. Avoid using pressure hangers as they expand to fit the garment on skirts with elastic waist and make them stretch.
Shirts
Hang them on a hanger with all the buttons fasten properly.
Dresses
Some dresses are such which are rarely worn, so for such dresses hang them inside out to protect them from dust. For longer dresses, sew loops inside the waist seams and use them to hang them.
Jumpers
You can either hand them or fold them. The right way to fold them is to fold the arms behind the back and fold in half width ways.
T-Shirts and Sweatshirts
If you have sufficient space, hang them otherwise store them in flat. Make sure that you fold them across instead of lengthways.
Jackets
Jackets should be hanged on wooden hangers or quality padded.
Coats
Coats should be hung in a cloakroom. You can also hang them on a wall peg near the door.
Points to Remember
Make sure that the clothes such as work clothes, which are worn frequently, should be easily accessible. It is so because you don't get enough time for finding the clothes in the wardrobes.
Never use metal hangers to hang shirts as they deform the shoulder shapes. Use only wooden or plastic hangers.
It often happens that one got more than one same style shirts and therefore for even wear you have to devise a simple rotation system, i.e. newly washed shirts should be hung on the left side and you take shirts from the right side.

Remove the old clothes, which you are not willing to worn again. This will make room for new clothes and items.
You can use the shelving made from heavy cotton to hang from the wardrobe pole to create some extra space.
Install a second rail halfway up the height of wardrobe to create extra hanging space.
