Before exercising in any other form of physical activity, you need to warm your body up, whether it is gymming, sports, gardening or any activity where physical strength is required. This helps body to be prepared for action and possibly prevent from injuries.

Avoid lifting heavy weight stuff because it may hurt your back. Not only this, lifting up a light stuff by bending down in a wrong way is likely to cause damage to your body. While you pick up something from the floor, make sure to get it close to your body and keep your back as straight as possible, do not let it bend.

If you are at work or even at home, make sure to keep changing your position. Keep moving now and then. The body is kept healthy when we make it move rightly and regularly.

Make sure to get the right furniture placed in your home or at your work place. Chairs and sofas should be comfortable and should be constructed in a way to give your back the right support with let your feet flat on the floor. Also, you need to put your attention on the bed. Bed should neither be too hard nor too spongy. It means that the mattress used on the bed should be soft enough to mould to the contours of your body and be firmed to give your back complete support.

To give your back proper support, you need to sleep for 8 complete hours. Sleep in a comfortable position. Also, using the right kind of pillow to support your neck is also important.

Use medication wisely,even though prescribed by a good doctor. Every medicine has some or the other kind of side effects. The intake of pain killers and non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs only provides a temporary relieve from the pain but not sort out the problem completely.
