Tuxedo shirts are button-down shirts that go below a vest and a tuxedo jacket. This layer of clothing comes in many special styles, including the standard collar version, mandarin collar style and pleated collar styles. A tuxedo shirt should be buttoned as soon as you wear it, to prevent wrinkles.

At first wear the pant that comes with the tuxedo suit. Leave the pant unbuttoned to make it easier to tuck in the tuxedo shirt once it is buttoned. If you choose to wear a belt with your pant, wait till you buttoned the tuxedo shirt and tucked it in. A belt is often not necessary on tuxedos, in case your tuxedo suit is not been fitted properly than go for a belt.

Wear an undershirt below the tuxedo shirt. An undershirt can be of plain white T-shirt or a tank top type shirt. Tuxedos shirts are commonly made from silks and cottons materials. An undershirt gives an extra layer of warmth and also acts as an extra layer between your skin and the shirt. Tuxedo shirts made of silk and cotton are often glow, thin and easily seen through.

Next wear the tuxedo shirt over your undershirt by sliding the shirt on, one arm at a time. Button the wrist buttons of your tuxedo shirt before buttoning anything else. If no cuff links are offered, button it in the normal manner by using the opposite hand to slide the button through the button hole. Repeat the same for the other wrist of your tuxedo shirt.

Straighten the collar of the tuxedo shirt with help of your palm. Move around the neck area and make sure no wrinkles have formed. If the tuxedo shirt doesn't have a collar nor have a mandarin-style collar, it should be straight and smooth once it is wearied on. Move up to the bottom of the tuxedo shirt and hit the lowest button on the shirt and the lowest button hole. Insert the button through the hole with your fingers. Follow your way up to the entire shirt until the tuxedo shirt is fully buttoned. Tuck in the tuxedo shirt into your pant of the tuxedo. Start at the front and check around your back, to ensure the entire shirt is tucked in properly. Button the pant of the tuxedo and put on a belt, if necessary.

The next piece to put on the tuxedo suit will be your tie. Tuxedos tie come in many different varieties which include a bow tie, neck tie or no tie at all. If your tuxedo has a collar, lift it up and wrap the tie around your neck area. Tie in correct place and then fold the collar down properly and neatly over the tie. Next wear the tuxedo vest over the tuxedo shirt. Then wrap a cummerbund around your lower waist. Finally put on your tuxedo jacket to give a classiest look with your Tuxedo suit.
