Titleist 913 D2 Driver Breeds My Confidence Of The Game

After months of on-tour testing, including a major win in the hands of Rory McIlroy at the U.S. PGA Championship, Titleist's 913 drivers were finally available to the public. The Titleist 913 D2 Driver is designed to provide more speed, distance and precision fitting with Tour preferred looks, sound and feel.

On the outside, the 913 D2 Driver look similar to the company's popular Titleist 910 D2 Driver. At first glance the 913 D2 doesnt look drastically different from the 910, but in its first week on Tour in July around 50 per cent of Titleist staff players switched to the new driver. By the end of 2012, 90 per cent of Titleists staffers are expected to have switched a clear sign of a measurable performance boost.

The D2, at 460cc, is particularly inspiring as it looks to offer a larger hitting area than many on the market. But even the 913 D3 Driver sale, a smaller 445cc head, wont intimidate the life out of a higher-handicap player. In truth the differences between the two arent vast. Both deliver the same initial launch and spin characteristics and deliver high ball speeds across more of the face.

The sound and feel off the club is amazing. That is the first thing you'll notice. The distance is great, even on shots I hit off the toe. When I caught it flush it was at least 15 yards further than my TaylorMade R11S Driver. It has a real nice look at address which breeds confidence. The club feels very solid and is forgiving if you hit it slightly off the heel or toe. Of course a horrible swing is still going to produce an appropriate result, but if you make a decent pass at the ball you can be a little off and still get good distance and accuracy.

Designed and built with a high-speed, forged face insert, the new Titleist 913 D2 drivers are the fastest, most consistent drivers Titleist has ever designed, delivering maximum ball speeds over a large area of the face. The 913 D2 has specific centre of gravity designed to be more forgiving, with more of a draw bias than it's 913 D3 sibling. You don't have to swing for the fences to get the most from this club. You'll be surprised just how easy it is to hit this thing long and straight.
