To Learn Spanish Reading, You Should Follow These 4 Easy Tips
While you set out to learn Spanish, trying to learn the sentences and the way to read is really critical
. This is difficult to do for many, and a lot of those who try to learn find that it takes a long time to actually piece all of the elements together into a really coherent sentence. If you keep plugging away, you'll do well. You can also take these few steps to learn Spanish reading.
First you will need to make sure that you read all of the context (be it the entire chapter, story or paragraph) before you use a translation dictionary. This will be hard to do if you don't comprehend it all, or even if you don't comprehend some of what's being spoken. You don't usually try to read a book if you only know 1/4 of the words.
It is critical that you go ahead on the first read through without a dictionary. This enables you to read the words and then possibly connect them together just from the context of what you've read, which is how your brain begins to learn.
Once you've done the reading once, then you'll need to take the next step of reading it with a dictionary's help. You don't want to stop at every word that you can't understand, however. You'll go ahead and look up those words that are necessary to understand the context as a whole. The verbs in the sentence are the first thing you should look to in Spanish literature.
There are those who will struggle with this sort of approach as they don't understand which words are critical to know, depending on your vocabulary. If you don't know a lot of words, then it's alright to look up a few more every sentence so you can put it together. This is somewhat frustrating, but you're doing it for a purpose.
After you read the whole piece altogether, with the assistance of the dictionary, you can then go on and try to learn Spanish by going over the material once more with no dictionary. Again, the goal is to put the pieces together, so you can understand the whole story, recalling what you've learned.
Finally, you will need to pick out those words that you still don't know the meaning of after these readings. This will be only used as a last resort, as you don't want to use the dictionary more than you have to. You'll do no good, however, if you don't at least have the vocabulary and instead guess at the words.
In order to learn Spanish by reading, you'll need to set aside plenty of time to do so. Sometimes it can seem really pointless and difficult if you aren't seeing immediate results. This is going to pay off in the long run, so stick with it.
