You would think we have a lot of small martians in our homes these days and it is not in the movies. This is for real. Yes, we have to face it. The electronic world has been toddling into the youngest playrooms. The little ones walk around with their first computer toy or a phone and they learn about numbers and computer skills. Sometimes you can't help but think maybe we are rushing a little bit, like joining the Jetsons.

We have heard from time to time the phrase "keep an open mind" and if anyone has an open mind wouldn't you think it would be a toddler. Such a young one does advance step by step, or is it now the term of drag and drop. The introduction of electronic toys to young ones seems to be such a quick start. However technology has considered the ABC's and all that good basic identification of colors, shapes and sounds. A wide range of products are in the marketplace. It seems evident that a little one can not be bored with them. The mental accomplishments give them a good foundation for future learning.

The toys of yesterday are still okay. Dolls and teddy bears are the first ones that come to mind. Some important feelings they can provide are being loved, how to hug, or just knowing that something is all their own. Some of us have been able to hold unto our dolls and teddy bears for many years. Aside from good memories these toys can increase in value for the collectors. Perhaps some of today's toddlers will be able to do this with their toys or games.

As in the older days, we still have to remind ourselves to keep balanced on all of the basics that come with raising toddlers to kids to teenagers. Of course, our common sense will take the lead as respects the safety of our young ones. This has to always be on our minds and a huge factor on our choices of products.

Many parents and grandparents do not have the luxury of being with a little one every moment of the day. So this does make quality time a priority. These little ones grow so fast and it is not a good feeling of wishing you should have spent more time with them. Every child is different and this includes their talents as respects how fast they can catch on to new things. It should not matter if they learn quickly or slowly. Patience is so important. They do not need the feeling of being pushed or rushed. This is why time should be used to search for the appropriate gifts for kids. Educational games when done properly can be fun games at the same time. Quality time for the toddlers and quality time for your memories.
