Tom Hanks' Most Impressive Roles In Recent Memory

If we want to make an argument or top 10 list of the best actors of all time

, one actor that you can certainly make an argument for is Tom Hanks. Ever since his role in Splash, Tom Hanks has been one of the objectively likable guys working in Hollywood. He just seems like a good person and I feel that resonates through his roles.

This article will highlight what I consider to be the best Tom Hanks movies.

The surefire film that would make any list of great Tom Hanks movies is Forrest Gump. This is probably his most notable role of all time and with good reason, he perfected this role as no one else could.

In Big, Tom Hanks plays the part of a boy in an adult's body. This is one of the best movies to come out of the 80s, and even in a comedy like this, Hanks' talent shines through.

One movie that certainly deserves to be on this list is Saving Private Ryan. Spielberg and Hanks teamed up to create what many call the most important World War II movie ever made. The first scene of this movie recreates the Battle At Normandy Beach and is very hard to watch.

One Tom Hanks movie that may not have gotten the mainstream praise which it deserved was The Green Mile. Hanks plays a jail guard who patrols a special prisoner on death row. This is an amazing movie.

Finally, I feel the need to mention is Toy Story. As the voice of Woody, Tom Hanks gave us the first iconic CGI character. He has reprised this role in the two films since and you have to wonder if these movies would be so great without him.

If there is a film I left off this list, do not worry. Tom Hanks always manages to make incredible movies and this list will have to be reevaluated in a few years.
