The Marriage of Figaro is without a doubt Mozarts most stunning operas, with the overture being well recognized even by those who have not studied classical music. When it was first performed, the Archduke Ferdinand of Austria complained that it was Far too noisy, my dear Mozart. Far too many notes. These and many other Mozart symphonies will sound familiar, having been used on the soundtracks to many movies.
