Nuclear medicine technologists can choose such specializations as nuclear pharmacist, PET/CT or radiation therapy.

There are clearly many specializations to choose from in the radiology field, and they arent limited to specializations for radiology technicians. There are numerous ultrasound and nuclear medicine specializations as well. It is a good idea to get your general radiology certification and get some experience through entry-level jobs or through internship programs; then decide which specializations suit you. The more specialized certifications you have, the more job and career opportunities will be open to you. And regardless of what career you are in that is a good thing.
